Poston is an unincorporated community located in Florence County, South Carolina, situated along South Carolina Highway 51 and U.S. Route 378. Flanked by the Great Pee Dee River, the community is recognized as a historic railroad junction and river port within the Pee Dee region. While it experienced a period of significant industrial growth in the early 20th century, it remains a small rural area today characterized by scattered residences and agricultural land.
