A Poston Family
of South Carolina

A lineage with roots in the state tracing back to the immigrant ancestor John Poston around 1766, after he emigrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania. This established family is well-known for The Poston Preserve, a private wildlife sanctuary in Manning, South Carolina, founded by Dr. Harold Chalmers Poston, Jr., a stewardship project that continues the family's legacy in the Pee Dee region.

It's Our Family Legacy

The story of a family is always larger than its names and dates. It is the landscape they shaped, the communities they founded, and the memory they leave behind. The Poston Family of South Carolina is more than a genealogy—it is a testament to a lineage that has been interwoven with the history of the Pee Dee region for over two centuries.
